Origin and tradition
The Vineyard
Maître Braquéty, lawyer, owner of the Castellet Castle that bears his name, bought, two hundred years ago, a wooded land at Saint Côme Valley, La Cadière.
He created a walled-in warren to kill rabbits. Over the years, his heirs bought adjoining plots to make a property of 27 hectares in terraces, opposite the village of La Cadière.
This is Le Domaine de La Garenne. From 1941, year of birth of the Registered Designation of Origin (AOC) BANDOL, plantations in Grenache, Cinsault and especially Mourvèdre for red wines were made. The aspect and the quality of the land give and always offer the wines of Bandol everyone expects.
The vineyard surrounding the Château Braquéty followed a similar way. Its production, coming from the Coteaux du Castellet, for some time is vinified and bottled in the cellar of the Domaine de La Garenne.
